Something New

Oh my goodness, Friends, it’s almost been a full week since I blogged.  Yikes!

I’d like to say I’ve been spring cleaning or yard work or anything else productive people do, but here’s the fact Jack, I have not been up to any of those things.

Here is what I have been up to:

Sunday: I spent the whole day in the “cramp cave”, eating cookies from Hy-Vee, Raman noodles, frozen meatballs and ibuprofen.

Monday: See Sunday.  And, let’s face it, my adult body can not handle Raman noodles the way my high school body could (can it handle anything the way my high school body could?).  Our sitter was here on Friday (Hi Laura!) and she mentioned she was going to eat Raman noodles.  So, appropriately, I began OBSESSING on Raman noodles until I ate them both Sunday and Monday. (Thanks a lot LAURA.)

On Monday, though, I added broccoli and meatballs and told myself I was eating Pho. So, that’s kind of fancy.

Tuesday: I went to Target and walked out of there with some necessities along with a set of three pouches (because I am addicted to buying pouches) (I really don’t know why I have not started making these yet!), a bright green wallet (so I can easily find it in my gigantic purse), a fun binder and some tabs. (I feel like if I have a pretty place to hold all the paperwork I need to do daily, I will actually do it.)

(I don’t know why I keep talking in parentheses.)

Wednesday: I hung out with my Mom all day.  I took her to an appointment, we had lunch and visited my sister at work.  Where we laughed our faces off.

Thursday: I went to IKEA for the first time! It was a lot of work.  My MIL, Jane, went with me and thank goodness! She had been before so she knew the ropes.  I bought lots of good stuff that I am positive is going to get me organized.  Or at least get my workout clothes organized. (Yes, I’m still working on that.)

(Remember this)

I was going to take a ton of pictures documenting “My First Trip to Ikea”.  It was going to be a whole thing, it’s own post, but I was so over-stimulated!  It was all I could do to follow the arrows and stay focused on why I was there (Kallax shelving – used to be Expedit)

I’ll take pictures of the finished product when we get everything put together. So, look for that in July!

What I am trying to say is:

I have not worked out yet this week.

I am also trying to tell you:

I am addicted to sugar.

You can read HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and….you get the picture, for posts talking about my sugar addiction.  I mean, part of my tag line is “RUNNING FROM SUGAR…” so obviously there is an ongoing issue over here.

Are you in the same boat (that you’ve named Sugar, ME TOO!)?  Let’s not sink together!

Let’s LINK UP together!

Here’s what I am thinking:

Sunday is the first day of the week.  So every Sunday, let’s all check in and link up our posts about how we are doing with keeping sugar out of our diet and what our goals are for the upcoming week.  If you are not a blogger, leave a comment on the blog or post your update to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using #runningfromsugar.

Let’s start THIS Sunday!

Everything is easier in a group, as a team.  So let’s do this!  We can be “Team Running From Sugar”!  We can make T-shirts! (probably not going to do that)

I have a great feeling about this.

Ok, so start today or start Sunday, whatever you want to do, but START or I guess I should say STOP!

Stop eating sugar!

When Sunday rolls around, get your post together and meet me here to link up.  We can share our goals, our struggles and our prizes (because we are going to need a reward to get through that sugar withdrawal)

We can do it!

  1. LOVED this post! The talking in parentheses comment made me seriously laugh out loud! Love hearing about the randomness of your life. Oh my goodness.....30 days without sugar???? Girl! You are a rock star! I would be impressed if I could make it 10 days! Sad, so sad, but true...

    1. You can totally do it! Let's do it together! I'll see you Sunday. ;)
