Ready for the Week

Yesterday started with a 3 mile run!



It felt really good.  I was a little faster.  Felt looser.  My lungs weren’t screaming at me to stop.  And I got a nice sheen of sweat flowing.

Let’s talk sweat…

The amount of time it takes for me to start sweating plus the amount I sweat, is a good indication of my bodies overall functioning.  I know my body is the most efficient when I start to sweat within minutes of exercise and in embarrassingly large amounts!


I did some reading on this subject several years ago because I used to be a little concerned on the amount of sweat that comes out of me.  There is no wearing outfits twice after I’ve had a good workout. Fo Sho.

I learned that’s a good thing.

For me, it means I am eating right and drinking enough water.  When my food and water isn’t where is should be, I barely break sweat.   When I am on a good schedule, the quicker my body releases sweat the more efficient it is working as it knows it will be getting replenished soon.

Back at home

I swung by the house and grabbed my girls for their walk.

And then it was time to get ready for our week.

Justin ran to the store and got all the food and propane for the grill.  I prepped all the food and grilled it.


Team work!

I put an onion, which I finely sliced, and mushrooms on the stove on low to sweat while I grilled the rest.  “The rest” included chicken thighs and breasts, hamburgers, sirloin steak, asparagus and red bell pepper.

Grilling is the fastest and easiest way to cook a large batch of food.

Now that all our meat is cooked, all we have to do is whip up a veggie when it’s time to eat. Easy-Peasy.

For dinner,

I enjoyed some steak with onions and mushrooms along with asparagus and bell pepper.


Everyone was pooped when evening rolled around.  All the sunshine can where ya out!


We wrapped up the day eating Girl Scout cookies and watching Shameless.
