Let the Christmas festivities BEGIN!
We had our first holiday gathering at our house last night with Justin’s sister, Mom and her fiancé.
I made spinach and cheese croissant pinwheels.
Apricot, goat cheese and candy pecans. We had these one night at Wines by Jennifer and have been waiting for our chance to make them. They are so oddly good. A lot of different textures and flavors going on at one time.
Those weird little cracker/bacon treats from Pioneer Woman that cook for 2 hours.
I almost forgot to take a picture again until there were only two left! This time I made some with parmesan and some with brown sugar. The parmesan ones are better.
I tried my hand at making roasted candied almonds. They were ok. I used coconut sugar instead of regular sugar so that may have made the difference. They tasted pretty good, but I thought they would be more “candied”.
We also put out the usual crackers and cheese.
Justin’s Mom brought lots of yummy food and chocolate treats and we all stood around talking and eating until I could hardly breath.
Then we did our annual $10 gift exchange.
We play the game where everyone gets a card with a number which decides the order in which the gifts are picked.
When it is your turn, you can either pick a gift from the pile or steal someone else’s gift.
It was fun! And Sarah got stuck with the Star Wars water bottle that we contributed to the exchange.
I didn’t make it to the gym yesterday. Beside getting ready for the family get-together, I had my final voice coaching. I have learned so much over the past 6 weeks about voice over and am really excited to get my demo made and see what happens!
Everyone left around 10pm and we were all asleep shortly after.
