Tap, Tap. Is This Thing On?

(Keep reading for what the title is all about!)

I got to thinking this morning….I feel like the perfect time to lift heavy weights for a female is the week before she starts her period.  These are the days when estrogen and progesterone are both at their highest. The past couple of days, I have woke up feeling aggressive, energized, REVVED UP.  And although that sounds like a good thing, those same feelings can take a tail spin right in to irritation and FRUSTRATION fast.


I’ve noticed the past couple of days that I can use that hormonal energy and direct it to my lifting.


If only it could last. Has anyone else noticed this?

Yesterday started with oats and egg whites.


I was on a tight schedule, so gym time came early.


We hit chest and biceps and it felt AMAZING! (see above)  We were both fired up.

After my workout, I hightailed it to my voice coaching lesson.  I am so excited to tell you guys about my new adventure and goals!

I have decided to pursue my dream of….

Voice Over! 


It’s kind of one of those “I know a guy, who knows a guy” situations.  Turns out!  I do, in fact, know a guy that does voice over work (David Washington).  So, I contacted him and we had a three hour meeting where he told me everything he knows about the business and then connected me with a guy he knows for even further direction.  I met with that guy (Don Miller) and here we are five weeks in to my six week voice coaching program.

I am so excited!

I love going to my lessons. Don Miller is an excellent coach.  The lessons are one on one and I have learned so much in the past five weeks.  He makes me feel comfortable and relaxed and has really helped me come out of my shell and be confident in my work.


I know to go into voice over with the mindset that this is a hobby and I will probably not make any money.  But, you know me well enough by now….

in the back of my mind….

I am telling myself….



In the coming weeks, I plan to build a little recording studio in the back of my closet, record a demo with Don Miller and start working my butt off.

I am not afraid of hard work.  I am willing to put as much effort as I need to in order for this happen.

Keep your ears open!  You might just hear me on TV! Winking smile

After my lessons, Justin, Tionna, and I loaded up and headed back to the gym. 


We all worked out and then this happened.


And I don’t even know what is going on here, but is makes me laugh so hard!


Then I thought a most muscle pose was a good idea.  Remind me to never do that again. In fact, remind to quit flexing next to Tionna all together!


At some point during the day, I ate ground beef, rice and stir fry veggies.


It’s almost 4:00pm and I have been working on this post off and on all day!  I better just press publish before it ends up any longer!

    how exciting!!!!voice overs!!

    and yes,totally get how the hormonal flux can cause awesome workouts,but then,that shera feeling gets replaced with cramps,extreme fatigue and pregnancy related!!!!!
