Unless you run at 6:15am!
I am getting around to posting a little late because I had to get out and run before it gets too hot today. We are supposed to be 108 (in the shade). Yesterday I was feeling the effects of not being able to run much lately. I was tired and sluggish and irritable. I could run on the treadmill but I have the hardest time making myself do that in the summer. The treadmill is more for rainy days or winter.
Anyway, I got 4 1/2 miles in this morning will lots of hill sprints. I was a hill hunter this morning. I wasn’t sure how long I was going to last as the temperature was already starting to climb at 6:15am. I wanted to make the best out of my time. Every time I ran down a hill, I turned around and sprinted up it. It was really fun. That also meant a little walking time, which I always struggle with during my runs. When I hear of other people walking during their runs, I think, “Good for them. Whatever it takes. Way to push through.” Not for me. If I have to walk, I might as well just walk home and call it a day because I get so irritated with myself! Walking after sprints didn’t bother me though. Laboring to breath probably helped in that decision making!
So, yesterday, was Boring (with a capital B). I didn’t feel like doing anything but felt bored because I wasn’t doing anything. Justin was so confused. He wan’t sure how to help me or if I was even asking for help. I finally took a nap.
I started the day with egg whites and one whole egg, canadian bacon and a gluten free english muffin.
I also ate some pasta bake.
Roast, potatoes, carrots, asparagus and corn on the cob (the corn didn’t make it into the picture!)
I also snacked on pretzels and hummus, pretzels and nutella and some turkey deli slices with swiss cheese dipped in ranch. So much salt. A lot of which came out today during my run! I can feel the salt on my skin! Yikes!
I started reading Tina Fey’s book, “Bossy Pants” last night. It should be a fun read.
I definitely plan on having a better day today than yesterday. I already have so much more energy. Running is crucial to my mental well being!
Yummy pasta bake! Im proud of you for getting up and getting your run in! Your much better at that than I am, lol..
ReplyDeleteI realised that I cant run. I have no stamina. 5 minutes in and I want to rip my lungs out of my chest.
ReplyDeleteAny tips for a newbie runner? I find i have a bit more stamina on the treadmill. But outside, I cant for the life of me!
Nutella and pretzels sounds yummy.
