Bike Rider

I have never been much of a bike rider.  It’s not that I don’t like it.  I love spin classes.  I just have never taken the initiative to ride a bike out doors. 

Sunday night, at dinner at my sister’s, my Mom mentioned that she bought a new bike and was going to sell her old one on Craig’s List.  I told her I might want to buy it from her…of course, she said she would just give it to me…then I said, well, just see if you can get anything for it first and then I’ll take it if you don’t have any biters.  She said, oh no, you just take it AND they delivered it to me.  They really got a raw deal.  Nice daughter, I am. It’s unfortunate that I didn’t snap a picture while it was still outside.  Instead, I waited until it was wedged in between the wall and the truck, making me stand on the truck to get this picture!

I’m pretty excited to ride it!

Meal #3: Marinated steak tacos from our new favorite mexican restaurant. They don’t add cheese to the tacos! I love that. Two homemade, soft, corn tortillas, marinated steak and then a little pico, gauc and sour cream. Justin got two pork enchiladas and they were delicious as well!

Meal #4: Bowl of cereal: dark chocolate almond milk with gluten free peanut butter puffs

I also snacked on some Pirate Booty puffed corn/rice in the Aged White Cheddar flavor. (Like a cheese ball!) I powered those down too fast to take a picture.

Meal #5: Chicken leg quarter and brussel sprouts (Sorry, the chicken looks a little tore up. I had already started going to town removing skin and fat before I got a picture)

I cooked the chicken in the crockpot for 8 hours with salt, pepper and Mrs. Dash Table Blend.  I cooked it with the skin and fat and then we just remove all that before we eat it.  It was super delicious!

I enjoyed an Edy’s lemon fruit bar after dinner.


Morning Cardio: Ran, hill sprints, walked dogs

Weights: 3 sets of the following:

  • Stepups: warm up set: no weights – 15 reps
    • Sets 1-3: 20lb DB, 15 reps (I thought I was going to die!)
  • Flat bench: warm up set: 20lb DB – 12 reps
    • Sets 1-3: 30lb DB, 12 reps
  • Bent over rows: 45 lb bar
    • overhand: 10 reps
    • underhand: 10 reps
  • Biceps curl: 15lb DB, 12 reps
  • Triceps, French Press: 25lb DB, 12 reps
  • Shoulder raises: front and lateral, 10lb DB, 10 reps

Those step ups really kicked my butt!!  I need to remember to incorporate them in each of my workouts. 

I’m off to get some running in before the heat settles over us again.  It’s supposed to be about 10 degrees cooler, but more humid, so it will feel about the same as yesterday! great.

    PS--step ups are a pain in the butt! Literally!
