Typical Day

Yesterday started off with a walk with my three favorite girls!

Then I took off for my run.  I didn’t leave myself much time, so I got in a quick 2 miles and then headed home to get everyone up and around for the day.

Meal #1: Chobani Vanilla Green Yogurt, Udi’s granola, banana

Not a chance, buddy!

After my food settled, I headed downstairs to lift weights.

I started with 20 minutes on the elliptical.

3 sets of the following:

  • Standing cable flys
  • Assisted pull ups
  • Concentration curls
  • Dips
  • 1 minute of step ups with knee raise (no weight)

I ended with another 20 minutes on the elliptical.

Meal #2: Egg whites with a gluten free english muffin with butter

I had big plans to get chores done yesterday but I was beat.  I didn’t feel like doing anything!

Meal #3: Turkey italian sausage, brown rice noodles, roasted petite brussel sprouts

Look at all that chocolatey gooie-ness! It was even better today since I ate it while the granola was still crunchy!

I settled in for the evening and watched No Strings Attached.  I really liked it!  A typical feel good love story.  My kind of movie!

What a Monday

I knew when I woke up yesterday that it was going to be a great day!  I have a new fire burning and want to make the next 30 days count.

I started the day with taking the the girls for their walk.

Then it was time for Title Boxing.  As usual, an awesome class and a total sweat fest.

It was a gorgeous day, so Justin and I played some golf.

The pink outfits were not on purpose but happened out of laziness.  I got dressed first and then went to fix food.  Justin comes out and I say “Nice shirt”, he says “ugh, you go change”, I say “nope”. Then we both decide that it doesn’t matter, we’re not going to see anyone we know anyway and off we go in our matching outfits!

I made the BEST treat for myself to eat either during or after golf.

It is:

  • One scoop chocolate protein powder mixed with  just enough water to be the consistency of peanut butter
  • One tablespoon of natural peanut butter, completely mix in with protein powder
  • Granola.  I didn’t measure this just kept adding and stirring until I got the desired amount

I left it in my golf bag for the two hours we played and ended up eating it in the car on the way home!  It was so yummy!  It had a caramel taste and consistency.  I will definitely me making this again!

There was a lot of outside play time with the girls when we got home.

Time to Work

Yay, it’s Monday!

A new week.

A fresh start.

We have 32 days until we leave for Puerto Rico.  I am NOT in bikini wearin’ shape. Gah!

Yesterday I did not make choices that get me closer to that goal either.

That’s what is so great about Mondays.  Goal setting time!  I am going to be hitting it hard for the next 32 days!

I may have said it before. Ignore any previous statements. I mean it this time!


I rested yesterday.  I only made it out of my pajamas to go buy more staples for the staple gun to fix my temporary fence.  Well, for Justin to fix my temporary fence.

And new nail polish! (and toilet paper, but that’s not fun.)

The rest of the day was leftovers hell.  I have plenty of good-for-me food to cook, but my deviled chicken and au gratin potatoes were cooked and easy!

Good thing I have Title Boxing this morning.  I might go back and take the evening Title Boxing class too!  Maybe the Noon class as well.  Maybe I should jog to and from the class.

Justin’s Mom and Sister (Sarah) stopped by to visit yesterday and meet our Sara.

I had to carry her out into the living room so they could meet her and then we all went outside so she could be more comfortable and have some space.  She fetched her ball and took treats from Janet and Sarah.   We can see improvements every time someone new comes over, so that’s good.

Sunday nights are all about Big Brother and then True Blood.

Oh, Big Brother was a good one last night. Justin and I are not on the same side. A divided house.  He is rooting for the veterans and I for the newbies. 

That show never disappoints!

Hangin’ with the Fam

It is another GLOR-EEE-OUS Sunday morning in Kansas City!  We are just having perfect weather lately and I am taking full advantage of our screened in porch to soak it all up.

Yesterday started with a 5 mile run.

I got to take my new shoes on their first run.  They felt so good.  I knew my other shoes were pretty worn out, but I didn’t realize how bad until I slipped my feet into these!

I came home and took the girls for their walk.

I ate a yogurt bowl outside on the deck.

Then I started getting glued to my computer.  The WBFF World Championships was yesterday in Toronto and I knew several people competing.  One of them being my trainer, Diana Chaloux-LaCerte!  I was so pumped for everyone! They had a forum going with play by play commentary and it was exciting! I felt like I was there.

I couldn’t spend all day in front of my computer though because Justin’s Dad and Stepmom were coming over dinner. Justin made the grocery store run and I cleaned and then cooked the food.

The evening started out a little on the warm side, but we didn’t mind, we sat outside anyway.  It cooled off pretty quick.

We enjoyed appetizers of crackers, salami and asiago cheese along with cream cheese with a jalepeno chutney.

And, of course, bottles of wine.

For dinner, I made deviled chicken, Au gratin potatoes and a salad.

It was yummy.  That was the first time I had made Au Gratin potatoes and they could have cooked longer, but they tasted good.

For dessert, I made that chocolate éclair dessert that we love so much.  So sweet, but so yummy!

Eventually, everyone reached their limit of sugar and wine and the evening came to an end.

I hopped back on the computer to get the updates on the competition.  Diana took 2nd place and her husband Micah took home the 1st place trophy in his division!  I am so excited for both of them and I know that everyone else that competed is waking up with smiles on their faces!

Boring=Injury Free

Happy Saturday Morning!!

Already this morning, I’ve had some excitement.

I was minding my own business, drinking coffee and stalking people on Facebook, when I heard Piper in the back yard barking like she meant business.  I ran out there in time to see a man tucked up next to my homemade fence, which was half down, telling me that my dog was out.  He was holding his small dog, by the way.

SARA!  That little stinker.

I’m sure that man walked by with his little dog and Sara jumped on my fence deluxe and broke it and scared the crap out of that man.  I felt terrible!

The fence people can’t start work on our fence for THREE WEEKS. Ugh.

Luckily Sara was right there and came to me easily.

Never a dull moment around here!


I had such a productive day yesterday!  Made a list and checked everything off!  I love when that happens.

I started the day with a bowl of oats with protein powder and a banana.

Then headed to Sweat Fest 2011, also known as Title Boxing.

Came home and ate some Chobani Vanilla greek yogurt with Udi’s granola.

Then I got busy making phone calls, doing paper work and getting my list and game plan in order.  By the time I was ready to leave the house and get some errands checked off my list, it was time to eat again.

Brown rice noodles (drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with Mrs. Dash Tomato, Basil, Garlic seasoning), roasted broccoli and turkey meatballs. The whole thing was sprinkled with a little parmesan cheese.

One of my errands was to get a new pair of running shoes.

I am so jealous of people that can run in Mizuno shoes because they come in such fun patterns and colors.  I have to wear boring Brooks and purple is about as fun as they get!  But, they keep me injury free, so I’ll stick with boring.

Next on the food train was egg whites with one whole egg, a gluten free english muffin with butter, and canadian bacon.
