Still Hot

Yesterday started off with a super sweaty run.  Using my Forerunner, I did a one mile loop and then just kept running that until I was pooped.  That happened at 4 miles. It was fun because it was different but I probably won’t do that again.  I don’t really enjoy running “laps”.  I like just running all over with no specific route in mind and then when my Forerunner beeps at me that it’s been 4 or 5 miles (what ever I feel like doing that day), I head home.

I followed up my run with a long walk with the girls.  I’m taking them on longer than usual walks because it so stinkin’ hot here.  They don’t go outside much during the day.

Meal #1 was protein ice cream to cool me off.  It was the usual:

  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder

After getting everyone up and around and outta here, I headed downstairs to lift some weights:

3 sets:

  • leg press (wide stance then close stance)
  • flat bench with dumb bells
  • bent over rows

3 sets:

  • bicep curls with dumb bells
  • french press
  • front and lateral raises

That got another sweat rolling and my appetite too.  Meal #2 was oats and protein.  Just the standard, nothing fancy:

  • 1/4 cup 7-grain cereal (cooked to death…I like it soft and dry not creamy)
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (mixed with just enough water to make a peanut butter consistency)

After zoning out in front of the computer for awhile, I suddenly realized it was TUESDAY!  Taco Tuesday!

I ordered four and ate two.  Lucky Justin. He was sick when we left.  Too much taco Tuesday thanks to his wife that can’t hold her own.  I’m there for the chips and salsa as much as I am for the tacos, so by the time the tacos arrive at the table, I’m really already done.

I read an article yesterday about 20 ways to not be fat (I’m sure it was worded differently, but you get the idea) and one of the things on the list of what NOT to do was eat the free food at restaurants….like chips and salsa!  oops.

Besides getting some laundry done, I did nothing productive yesterday.  So, moving on to what I ate next:

Brown rice cakes with chocolate, white and peanut butter chips.  This is such a perfect little 3 o’clock treat!

Neither of us felt like cooking. Dinner was a noodle bowl.  Nothing exciting.  It was Chinese take out so I ate it with chop sticks.

We bought some tennis balls and at about 8 o’clock I took Sara outside and played fetch.  She is so good at it!  Since the first time I threw a ball for her, she has brought it right back and dropped it in my hand! I’m so impressed with that!  I threw the ball until she finally didn’t bring it back to me.  Instead, she took her ball and laid down on the couch in the screened in porch! Smart girl.

  2. I bet Sara is so good at fetch because she would watch Carsen and dad do that every night :)
