My Month

Yes! June 1st!  It’s my birthday month!

We are having beautiful weather too.  Very June-like.  Can’t wait to get out there this morning for a run.  It’s kind of cool, but still a little humid…you can tell it’s going to get hot today.  The sun is shining.  Just beautiful.

Yesterday turned out to be beautiful but it started with rain.  I headed down to do an hour on the elliptical and about half way through, realized that one of our clients got sick in the bathroom.  So, my cardio turned into scrubbing the bathroom from top to bottom.  Nice way to start the day.

After getting everyone ready and out of the house for the day, I ate some plain Chobani yogurt with gluten free peanut butter puffs, banana and an agave nectar drizzle:

After that had time to settle, I headed downstairs to lift weights:

  • 3 sets of:
    • Smith Machine squats: 95 lb – reps: 10, 10, 10
    • Leg extension: 70lb – reps: 12, 12, 12
    • Romanian deadlifts: 95lb – reps: 12, 10, 10
    • Leg press: 200lb – reps: 10, 10, 8

I was resting, planning what my next round was going to be, when the phone rang and the girls were ready to be picked up from the groomer.  This is the downfall about working out at home.  When I worked out with Diana, I wouldn’t know they were done until I was done with my workout.  I hate for them to be left in a cage for too long, so I quit what I was doing and ran up there.

When I got home, Justin and I decided to go visit his Mom at the hospital.  She had to have a hip replacement.  Justin hates the thought of her sitting in that hospital room all day by herself, so when he called and no one was with her, he was eager to get down there.  We spent a couple of hours at the hospital visiting and then headed over Blue Koi for some lunch.

We shared some fried tofu with AWESOME SAUCE (that’s what it is actually called and rightly so!).  The waiter messed up our order and we had to wait FOREVER for our food, so he brought us another order of fried tofu with AWESOME SAUCE!  All was forgiven.

I also ate the Chicken Basil lettuce wraps:

And one of Justin’s dumplings (I used to eat a whole plate of these by myself!):

I have to be honest. The only reason I didn’t order dumplings and eat the whole plate by myself, is because I really wanted this:

Damn you, Frozen Yogurt!!

We relaxed at home for the rest of the night.  While I fixed dinner (taco salads) for everyone else, I snacked on a few of my no bake cookies.  I made a chicken breast and brussel sprouts for myself with some BBQ sauce for dipping:

I have decided to participate in the 30 Days of Creativity thanks to my sister Vann!  It sounds like fun.  Now I need to put my creative hat on and figure out stuff to create each day.  It might get a little tricky when we are on vacation in a couple of weeks!

That Awesome sauce trully does look awesome. I am having a good day today so looking at food makes me happy haha :)

  2. Ps I left a comment about pickles on one of your other posts haha so I am just going to ask it here because I forget which one now…
Wanted to know how close to competition you ate pickles. I usually have it on my Meat day...

  3. A Fine Balalnce, you are funny! I answered you there too (77 days out!). I ate them all the way up to 10 days out, I believe. I ate A LOT of pickles! I also ate a ton of cucumbers. I peel them, de-seed them and cut them into thick little chunks. If you eat them while drinking fruit punch Crystal Light, it's almost like candy! LOL!
