The Third Coast

Hello from Indiana!  I couldn't stay away.  I just had to check in with you guys!  We are having a great time visiting our friends on the Third Coast.

These are their kids, Stella (white german shepard) and River (black lab).  You know how much I love dogs.  They make me miss my girls.  I am having fun loving on these two though.

Yesterday, I got up early and ran a little under 5 miles with Sarah.  The weather was perfect and while I normally don't like running with people, I really enjoyed running with Sarah.  We got home and stretched for a bit and then I headed to the gym with Brad (Justin was sleeping through all the of this, apparently he thinks we are on vacation.).  It was fun to try out new equipment. I started with 10 minutes on that rotating staircase machine.  LOVED IT!  Then I headed over to all the weight machines (which I have never touched in my life, I have only used free weights) and did 3 sets of a full body circuit.  Then it was back to the staircase thingy for 20 minutes and then, when I thought my glutes were going to hop off my body and run for the door, I hopped on the elliptical for a 15 minute cool down.

Justin was up by the time we arrived home.  Brad and Sarah had to head into work for a couple of hours so Justin and I found our way to a breakfast place.

I ate an omelette, slice of toast with homemade jam and yogurt with granola.  (I gave my hashbrowns to Justin).

After Brad and Sarah arrived home from work, we headed to a cute lunch spot for sandwiches and salad.  I ate my sandwich before I remembered to take a picture, but it was so good.  It was turkey, avocado, roasted tomatoes, mozzarella and arugula on this awesome whole grain bread. I only ate half the bread but ALL the insides!

The rest of our day was spent just hanging out. They have a beautiful home and garden and yard.  We had fajitas for dinner and Sarah made a strawberry and rhubarb pie! From scratch.  OH MY GOODNESS, OH MY GOODNESS, it was delicious! It was my first time having strawberry/rhubarb pie and I loved it!

Everyone is still sleeping.  The house is so quiet and the sun is shining through the windows now as I drink my coffee and write this.  It is going to be a beautiful day!  Hope you all are having a beautiful start to your day as well!

  1. Ah I love the stair machine (I usually refer to it as a Stairmaster because I don't know what it's really called either hehe)! I did 30 minutes this morning--if you really want a butt kicking, I put it on the interval setting and during the slow intervals, I skip stairs while doing glute kickbacks. If that makes sense. P.S. You look very Lofty & lovely!
