Good Morning! It’s Friday! So, I was going to try to change up my blogging style and blog more than once a day, buuut I’m too lazy and don’t lead an exciting enough life! Once a day it is.
I got wrapped up in Facebook and reading other blogs yesterday morning and before I knew it, I only had 30 minutes to get a run in. It still felt great! My body is feeling looser and better each day. I guess I didn’t realize I was so tight!
I started the day off with oats, protein powder and a banana. (1/4 cup of 7-Grain Cereal, 1 scoop of protein powder and 1 whole banana)
Meal #2: Two organic brown rice cakes with natural peanut butter and homemade strawberry jelly (from my Grandma!), one container Chobani Honey yogurt with toasted 7-Grain Cereal (I toasted it a little too long so it was kind of burnt tasting, but I still ate it).
Meal #3: One cup boiled sweet potatoes, 5 oz baked chicken breast, veggie salad with Newman’s Own dressing.
Meal #4: Egg Sandwich (two slices Udi’s gluten free bread, two whole eggs and, dare I say it, MIRACLE WHIP!) Oh-so-yummy-right-inside-my-TUMMY!!
Meal #5: 5 oz baked chicken (Gates BBQ sauce for dippin’) and petite green beans tossed in olive oil and salt and roasted.
All the snacks may be out of the house but that doesn’t mean my sweet tooth went with it. I really love having a little something sweet after I eat. During prep, I solved that issue with a piece of sugar free gum. I am on a artificial sweetener detox right now! I don’t want to even look at something that has artificial sweetener in it.
*Side note: Gum with xylitol does not work well with everyone. Justin gets ill when he chews Trident or the other gum I purchased from my doctor (when I thought xylitol was some fancy holistic doctor thing). Very interesting. It’s happened twice now..he gets really hot and sweaty (you can see the sweat), nauseous and super anxious. Just FYI.
After my chicken breast and green beans I was wanting some ice cream. If I hadn’t been too lazy to put on a bra, I would have gone to Yogurtini. I tried making deals with Justin to get him to go for me, but he said he couldn’t because his calves were sunburned (we’re a lovely match)! Instead, I made this:
I used our VitaMix and threw in:
- 1 cup Almond Milk
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
- 1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries (I didn’t actually measure, I just dumped some in!)
- Handful of spinach
So thick and yummy, totally better than Yogurtini (I think my pants just caught on fire)! But I got to remain braless and Justin didn’t have to leave the house with his sunburned calves and I still ate something sweet!!
Too funny! Have you ever had Protein Freeze? It's an amazing healthy alternative to ice cream! You should google it! :)
ReplyDeleteI love how you post EVERY SINGLE MEAL such dedication and some days right now when I want something swweet like icream, I just blend some ice and a scoop of mint choco chip protein....really does help with my sugar craving...
ReplyDeletehave you tried chobani or athenas plain greek yogurt and added your own honey?? It is yummy and you know exactly what you are putting in it and it tasted better to me...just an idea if you haven't tried. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI love that there are so many ways to get an ice cream fix!
ReplyDeleteTammy, I SHOULD just buy the plain and add my own honey. I wanted to try several different flavors since it was my first time buying it. I'll definitely be picking up some plain next time though!
