8 Days Out

I feel great again this morning!  Have to take advantage of these energy boosts to get stuff done.  Yesterday was a super busy day.  I did my morning cardio, got a facial, went to the doctor with my Stepmom and then to my last cardio class at the karate school.  I managed to get all my water and food in as well.  Busy Busy!

Kerryne, you were so right about my body changing practically over night.  It is ALREADY looking different than the above picture and it’s only been a week! Holy Moly!  I am really excited to see what I am going to look like next week.  I really appreciate all the feed back I get from everyone.  It is so comforting to know that the feelings I am having and the energy roller coaster I am on is normal and everyone goes through it!  I can not thank you enough for following along with me and commenting on this blog!

The facial I got yesterday was A-MAZING! The girl I go to just makes it so relaxing and even doing extractions wasn’t bad.  All the massaging on my face and head felt extra good due to all the gum I have been chewing!  In other spa related news, my Mom called me the other day and wanted to treat me to a spa day for my birthday.  I am so excited!   A massage will be just what I need after all I am putting my body through and she wants to do it with me, so it’s extra special! Thanks Mom!!

After my facial, Justin was playing golf, so I was left home alone to wonder around avoiding all paperwork or laundry that needed to be done. Instead, I made these breakfast bars for our group home clients:

They are:

  • 1/4 cup of butter
  • 1 cup honey (spray measuring cup with Pam and honey comes right out)
  • 1 cup peanut butter (I sprayed measuring cup again with Pam so it came out easy)
  • 1/2 bag mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups Cheerios
  • Peanut butter and chocolate chips along with raisins sprinkled on top

Spray pot and spatula with pam. Melt butter, honey and marshmallows together over medium heat (I stayed right on top of it, stirring often so it wouldn’t burn).  When the marshmallows are mostly melted, stir in peanut butter and let it cook together a little, stirring constantly.  Turn off heat and add cheerios.  Dump mixture into 13x9 pan (that has been sprayed with Pam) and lightly press mixture into pan.  Sprinkle with extra toppings. I chose peanut butter/chocolate chips and raisins.  Put in the fridge over night (or eat right away!).  Cut into bars in the morning!

I can’t wait to serve them breakfast this morning!  I know it’s a lot of sugar, but it’s also some good carbs and fat and protein.  Perfect for breakfast! So, I’m considering them healthy!

I was at my Stepmom’s appointment for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon, so I was pretty tired and hungry when I got home.  I tossed around the idea of not going to the cardio class at the karate school and started making my list of excuses to give to Justin, but he didn’t buy it and encouraged me to go! He snapped me out of my funk and I went!  I told myself I will not regret going, but I will regret not going.  So, I hopped into some workout clothes as soon as I got home and raced out the door.  I am so glad I went.  It was a great class!

Today is my last high carb day until the show.  I am really looking forward to it!  We have another busy day ahead of us, so I need the fuel.  I better get going on morning cardio!  Have a fabulous Friday!

  3. Shawna, for the past 16 weeks, I have just been listing what body part I am working for that day since I am working with a trainer and doing whatever she tells me. I will be back to my own thing next week, so stay tuned. I will be posting my workouts.
