41 Days Out

2011April 014

This day could not be starting any better.  I am sitting in a super comfy chair in my screened in porch, there is a nice breeze, birds are chirping and I am drinking a cup of coffee.  Life is good.  Really good.

Yesterday was really good too!  I woke up at 5:30am. On a Saturday. Yay for me. Ha!  Obviously, I didn’t realize what day it was when I first woke up.  I was so excited that I had beat the alarm, again, I actually said out loud, Yes! It’s 5:30am! And then, oh, it’s Saturday, I don’t have to get up early.  But it was too late.  There was no going back.  My bladder was awake now too!

I decided that since I am 6 weeks out from the competition I have earned a treat.

A new bright and cheery running outfit!  Red heart

Then I stopped at the grocery store and bought these:

Don’t worry, they are tucked nicely into the freezer!  In 42 days, they will be melting deliciously in my mouth!

It’s kind of funny because I am looking forward to, and day dream about, all the yummy treats I am going to enjoy after the show, when in reality I’ll probably eat one cookie and get such a sugar rush and yucky feeling, that I won’t want anymore.  Oh well, I still want to have it all!

We had friends over last night for Fajitas!  It was so fun and competition diet friendly!  I can’t believe I forgot to take a picture of my plate, but I ate my fajitas with a lettuce wrap.  I cooked all the veggies and meat with no oil and no one even knew the difference (or at least no one said anything!).  It was a beautiful evening out so we spent the evening on the deck and in the yard playing with their kids after dinner.

We had steak and chicken.  We had all the usual toppings for dressing up the fajitas.  I just stuck with big lettuce leaves filled with chicken, veggies and hot sauce.  It was delicious!

Spending time with our friends was the highlight of the day, but I also did a chest workout and ran 5 miles.

My meals were:

  • Meal #1: Oats with Protein
  • Meal #2: Egg whites and gluten free toast
  • Meal #3: Oats with Protein
  • Meal #4: Turkey burger with lettuce as the bun, onion and mustard. Raw broccoli &  Red Bell Peppers
  • Meal #5: Fajitas!

I was worn out by the time we went to bed and as soon as Justin started rubbing my back (in case you are new, or missed that post, we do 15-20 min back rubs every night) I was out. Not a bad way to fall asleep!

Progress pictures are up! Not too different than last week.  Looks like my legs are starting to show up a little.  Just need to be LEANER!! 6 Weeks to finish the job!

  1. I am jealous of everything about this post! You with the laptop on your screened in porch-- your Reese's Eggs (even though they are for post-competition!) - your new workout outfit which is so cute!!!! the fajitas and your legs! haha :) Glad you had a good day!

  2. I can see some definite differences from last week to this week in your photos! Your abs are showing more & I agree, you can see more definition in your legs & back. Looking great!
    Your morning sounds fabulous, too.

  3. Definitely a difference from last week. Your body is totaly figuring it out! Whoohoo!!! How exciting. Everything is coming together beautifully! Yay!
