Now, about my intestines..
They were cramping yesterday morning and they are really cramping again this morning! (Too much info so early in the post?!) What the heck? Too much artificial sweetener maybe? I am going to try to cut back on how much gum I am chewing and only have one sugar free Jell-O instead of two today. I need my sugar free Jell-O and gum! I have been up for an hour now (and gone to the bathroom twice….going too far?) and am starting to feel better. Don’t think I will be running five miles, though.
I know I have an intolerance for gluten and dairy, so I steer clear of them. Except for my oats in the morning. It is actually a 7-grain hot cereal mix. To be honest, I never thought about it having gluten until my sister-in-law, Sarah, told Justin about it. I always thought gluten was the protein that was created in the process of making breads, pastas, etc. I didn’t think raw grains contained gluten. Wrong. Of course, I started researching it more after Justin told me about my cereal. And, yep, all seven of my grains have gluten. So, why doesn’t it bother me? Breads, pastas, any desserts containing flour set my intestines a blaze and make me feel hung-over the next day, but my morning “oats with protein” have never affected me. Any ideas? Does anyone else have these issues?
Yesterday
So, nothing too exciting happened yesterday. I feel like all I did was exercise and EAT! It was a high carb day. I was a little nervous about my food plan because Saturday was a high carb day, then Sunday a low day, then yesterday was another high carb. I was tempted to make yesterday a medium day because I was afraid to have two high carb days that close, but I decided to Trust the Process (and Justin said if I’m going to obsess about it and doubt myself all day just do what Diana tells me to do and quit thinking about it! ha!) and I lost weight this morning on the scale!
Workouts:
- Morning cardio – ran 5 miles + walked dogs = 60 minutes
- Warehouse workout
- Home – trained hamstrings and glutes
- Round 2 cardio – Insanity DVD with Justin
Food:
I was terrible about taking pictures yesterday, so most of the pictures are old.
Meal #1: Oats with protein (then went to the warehouse)
Meal #2: Egg whites, one slice gluten free toast (ate this as soon as I got home, waited 30 min then headed downstairs to lift weights)
Meal #3: Oats with protein (ran upstairs and ate this after lifting weights and waiting for Justin to finish his workout, then headed back downstairs to do Insanity!)
Meal #4: Chicken breast, sweet potato chips, brussel sprouts (ate this after doing Insanity and before we headed out the door to the grocery store)
Meal #5: Chicken breast, sweet potato chips
Meal #6: Chicken breast, salad (the only picture I took yesterday!)
I ate a chicken salad for dinner and Justin ate this:
I can eat steak on my diet (not a ribeye!), but I am just choosing to stick with lean meats since I need to lose all the fat I can right now! Justin cooks the BEST steaks though! I can’t wait to eat one in a couple of months.
Uhmmm Matt and I are in agreement that we are going to need Justin to make us some steaks this summer.
ReplyDeletePS- If I have too many artificial sweeteners I get upset stomach too.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I know nothing about gluten so I am not help there. Maybe Mattie would know??
Oh yes, Vann, next time you guys are over we will have steaks!
ReplyDeleteThank you thank you thank you for your day to day posts!
ReplyDeleteI want Sugar free jello!
I am 62 days out including today and competition day....
Those sweet potato chips...can you tell me how you made them? assuming you cut thin slices and of course put them on a baking sheet but for how long? did you need oil or salt or anything else to season ?
