2011January 025Yesterday was the last non-competition diet meal I will be eating!  It’s just not worth it!  I was up a pound from the Chinese food we ate Friday night and I thought, no big deal it’s just salt, I’ll drink it out by morning!  Then yesterday we went to my older sister’s wedding reception and I ate some of the snacks that were around and then we went to a restaurant and ate sushi!  Now I’m up a pound from that!  So that’s TWO pounds that has now caused me extra cardio!  I am still down a pound from last Sunday, but I would have been down THREE!

I didn’t do any cardio yesterday morning either!  I gave myself too many excuses about being too sore and tired, blah, blah!  I’m not getting away with anything, I’m only adding extra on to next week by doing that! Sad smile

My diet was great the first part of the day!

Meal #1: Oats with protein powder and 1 tablespoon chia seeds.

Meal #2: Egg whites, turkey bacon and gluten free toast

Justin fixed us both some BCAA’s with added glutamine and then we headed over to my Mom’s to celebrate my sister’s new marriage!

The food choices were definitely not on a competitor’s diet, but I decided to have a little anyway!  No cupcakes or candy though!  I had one of the shrimp/spinach crackers, one of the turkey & cheese on a roll, triscuits with dip, veggies with dip and some olives.  We toasted the happy couple with champagne which was the first time in  two weeks that I have had a drop of alcohol! (It’s the little successes that I’m focusing on!)

After the reception, we were going to go see a movie, but were hungry and knew we couldn’t be trusted with the concessions, so we were trying to find some where healthy to eat.  We decided on a sushi place figuring it’s only FISH!  I ate way too much!

First was the soup (onion broth with mushrooms) and salad (with that yummy, smoky dressing only Japanese restaurants offer!), then came the mushroom tempura!  Oh my, what a treat! Mushroom tempura sounds so much better than FRIED MUSHROOMS! They were mushrooms with crab and avocado and then oh-so-lightly fried (that’s what I like to think!).

We ordered a plate to share:

So. Much. Rice. I didn’t eat the rice balls, just the fish off the top, but I did eat quite a few pieces of the rolls!  It was all so good!  Justin ate all the questionable pieces of fish and I ate the tuna, salmon, shrimp and two unknown white fish!  I dipped each piece into my soy sauce/wasabi mixture!  Justin likes a little more wasabi in his soy than I do.  Look at the difference in color!  Clears my sinuses just looking at his!

We ended up not seeing a movie after all!  We went home and got in our jammies instead!

I reluctantly took progress pictures this morning.  I am so bloated from all the rice and salt from yesterday, but it is what it is!  I chose to eat that stuff knowing I had progress pictures this morning!  You can find the rest of the pictures in the Progress Pictures tabs!

I need to find a better place in our house to take these pictures every week.  I didn’t like last week’s location, so I chose the hall this week and it’s WORSE!

  1. I totally commend you for still posting pics and being so honest about your eating and exercise! I start my 1/2 marathon training this week so I need to tighten up my diet too!
