Good to Get Out!

I ventured out into the cold, icy world yesterday and it felt GREAT!  I had been at home for four days.  So, I was ready to get out and be somebody!

I started the morning with 30 minutes on the elliptical then headed to the warehouse.  It was frigid, but that just made me work harder to get warmed up faster!  I drank some Extend with some glutamine added during the workout.  We did the following 5 times:

  • Flat bench
  • Plank rows
  • Plyo pushups
  • Triceps pull down (single arm)
  • Jungle gym pushups
  • Hamstring curl on stability ball (one leg)
  • Plank to pushup
  • Burpees
  • Kettlebell side bend

Then he had me hop on the treadmill and run for 20 minutes.

I should have brought food with me because I made a stop off at the grocery store and a craft store before heading home.  Which put me at home after noon without ever having a meal! Yikes! I was starving (and Justin was too!).  We quickly got busy making eggs, bacon and toast…in my case, egg whites, turkey bacon and gluten free toast!

My next meal was the rest of the buffalo chicken with brown rice, peas and carrots.

I snacked on some grapes and then Justin and I cooked a delicious dinner!  He cooked us steaks and I cooked him peas and myself roasted brussel sprouts.  It was sooo good!

I bought 12oz steaks so we would both have left overs!  I am going to eat this meal earlier in the day and eat some sweet potatoes with it today!

It was so good, I had to post two pictures!  I love brussel sprouts and they are sooo good for you.  Justin looked up the nutritional information on them and check it out:

“The good: This food is low in Saturated Fat and Sodium, and very low in Cholesterol. It is also a good source of Protein, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Iron, Magnesium and Phosphorus, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Folate, Potassium and Manganese.”

This was taken from Self Nutrition Data. Brussel sprouts also have a little over 1 gram of protein per ounce! 

After letting our food settle for a bit, Justin and I headed down stairs and watched an hour of TV from our cardio machines!  I was on the elliptical and Justin was on the treadmill.  Time went by a lot faster last night.  I was pretty tired before I even got on the elliptical so by the time I got into my jammies and into my bed (at 8:45!) I fell asleep almost immediately! Ha!  I love days like yesterday.  I worked hard and therefore, slept hard! I feel refreshed this morning and ready to do it all again!

May 21st will be here before I know it!

My goal for today is to get my morning cardio done earlier so I can get some oats and protein in BEFORE heading to the warehouse.

  1. How do you make the buffalo chicken and where do you find the gluten free toast? That breakfast dish is calling my name! I do your trick now with the protein drink in my oatmeal, so yummy!
