Whitney Houston and the Grammys

It’s Monday and it’s a SNOW DAY!  A real snow day, not just a freak out from Justin and I!

Oh, what a weekend.

Such a tragedy that Whitney Houston died.  I hate drug addiction.  What an awful, awful choice she made that first time she used.  It makes me mad at her for not using the resources available to get sober for her daughter, but sad that she was obviously trapped by the ugly captor of drugs.  I don’t know how her daughter will ever find peace about this, but I hope she kind find happiness in her life and surround herself with love.

Yesterday morning, I met a friend at Starbuck’s for “coffee”, only I had already drank too much coffee, so I enjoyed a Caramel Apple Spice.  We chatted about diet and exercise and getting on track. Meghan is the only one in color in the picture below, standing behind my Mom.  It was good to get recharged and excited about diet and workouts.

And then there was the Grammy’s.  I wanted more Adele, Maroon 5, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Bruno Mars, LMFAO, or Rihanna.  Why was there so much Chris Brown? Sorry, not forgiven. Ever.  Or did we really need two Paul McCartney songs?  That Valentine song, right in the middle of the show, totally sucked all the energy out.  I am a fan of the Beach Boys, but not of that performance.  And I don’t think I even need to say anything about Nikki Minaj.  Facebook and Twitter blew up right after that performance!  She’s trying too hard.  Obviously, she wanted to make a wave and get people talking.

The best parts of the show were LLCool J and Adele.  I thought he opened the show perfectly.  He acknowledged Whitney and paid respect to her career and then turned it around and got everyone excited about celebrating the night.   And Adele….she looked beautiful and her voice stands on it’s own.  She deserved every single award.

  4. I missed the Grammys! I must have short term memory loss or be sleep deprived! Oh yeah...sick kids...that's it! The chili looks yummy and Sara looks like she is giving a bashful look next to Brutus or wait! It's like she is trying to tell us she is putting up with the kitty attitude! LOL!
