Whoa, Nelly!

I got slammed with an evil sickness Tuesday and have been laid out!  It started with a little sore throat Tuesday morning and by Tuesday night, it had taken control!

When I woke up Wednesday morning my throat hurt so bad it felt like I was swallowing tiny little knives every time I swallowed.  It also felt super swollen, I was surprised air was even travelling through!  It took hot coffee and ice cold water to loosen it up enough so I could take a couple ibuprofen to help with my horrible headache!  DOUBLY WHAMMY!

I am not one to take antibiotics but I was pretty close to calling in for some!  I ran a fever off and on Tuesday and then a good, solid one Wednesday morning, so I told myself I would wait out the fever and see if it would burn out the evil sickness!  If not, I would call for reinforcement.  It worked!  Fevers are good!  They happen for a reason.  They create an environment in your body that most illnesses can’t survive. If you get sick, you should always talk to your doctor though, don’t take my advice!  I just know what works for me.

I stayed as far away from our group home clients as I could so Justin has been working over time!  Between taking care of me, the house, the animals, the clients, he has been one busy guy.  He even had to do grocery shopping on his own and I’m so glad he did because he brought me Raman Noodles (which I haven’t eaten since 1997 but they are still the best food ever and if they didn’t make me swell up twice my size, I would eat them every day!) and Ben & Jerry’s Chubby Hubby (my fav!).

When I woke up yesterday, the heaviness from my head was gone and after the hot coffee/cold water treatment again on my throat it stayed loose the rest of the day and the soreness eventually faded!  I got busy getting stuff done in case in creeped back up on me!  It was also a beautiful day in Kansas City so I spent some time outside, watching the dogs play and soaking up the Vitamin D!

Justin needed a break, so he went and hit golf balls for awhile and then joined me on the deck for a meal!

Justin is such a trend setter!

I got some actual meals in too:

Meal #1: Oats with protein

Meal #2: Yogurt bowl: Chobani Vanilla, frozen strawberries-defrosted, Udi’s granola

2012January 006

Meal #3: Chicken breast (I cut them in half so they would be thinner and then cooked them on our indoor grill), roasted brussel sprouts and brown rice with Gates BBQ sauce

Meal #4: Tacos made with love by Justin!

I also indulged in the rest of my Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, a couple of cookies throughout the day and cleaned up the rest of the Christmas candies!

By bedtime, I wasn’t feeling so great again but managed to fall right asleep. I woke up around 3am with cramps (it’s also that TOM!) and a hearty cough!  I am working my hot coffee/ice cold water trick this morning and am already feeling better.  I am ready to wrap this up!  My to do list is getting longer!

  3. Being sick is the worst, isn't it?! Hope you feel better soon, and thanks for including us in your yogurt bowl. A day full of protein should kick the germs, and we hear Ben & Jerry's works wonders, too.

  4. The majority of loan applications by individuals with bad credit are rejected by
lenders. With a bad credit payday loan it is designed for
people with bad credit and nearly everybody is accepted. Due to the fact that your repayment is immediately deducted from your account on payday, Lenders are able
to do this. This means that the lender is sure you are visiting
be able to pay back the cash you have actually borrowed from them.

  5. An additional link building means is with social
networks, which is beginning to greatly influence
on positions in online search engine. Lots of companies will not have
social media web pages as generally most would not take into consideration how
effective having a social media existence can be.
