Some Normalcy

It’s hard to believe it’s already Friday.  This week has been a blur.  I am trying to get our days back to some sort of normalcy.

I started yesterday off with the gym.  I did 20 minutes on the AMT with the resistance set to 20, then headed over to the free weights.

I did 3 sets of 10-12 reps:

  • weighted stationary lunges
  • hammer curl to overhead press to tricep extension
  • flat bench with dumb bells
  • one arm rows

I finished up with a 10 minute cool down on the AMT with the resistance set at more of a running pace.

I felt great when I left, especially knowing I had brought the right set of keys inside with me!

My sister’s birthday gift finally arrived (her birthday was MONDAY!).  So, I called her up and invited her to breakfast.  We went to Mimi’s café where I had french toast with egg whites and turkey sausage.  We had a great breakfast and discussed our love for iHeart Organizing!

After a quick trip to the dentist for a cleaning, I ran by Tuesday Morning and picked up some Christmas gifts along with more organizing tools for our house. I paid $22 at Opensky.com for one of these for our closet and found this one at Tuesday Morning for $14.99!

Since I was in the area, I ran into the Dollar General and picked up some white tubs to collect more loose stuff that we store in our laundry room.

Slowly but surely I am getting things under control in there.  Our laundry room is right off the kitchen so we use it for so much!

Once home, I took Sara and Piper for a long walk around the neighborhood (we got hit with a heat wave, it was 40 degrees!).  It’s been a while since we took that long of walk since Katy couldn’t walk that far before getting worn out.

The girls needed it and so did I!

After our group home clients got home and settled, I packed up all Katy’s diabetes supplies and food and took them to our local shelter, Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter.  Let me tell you folks, it was hard.  I cried at home. I cried at the shelter.  Justin had to remind me that “that stuff” is not Katy.  I had just been through so much with her and “that stuff” it was hard to let it go.

I picked up dinner after that little trip.  Neither of us were in any mood for cooking.  I ate grilled chicken, rice and broccoli.

And a salad.

It was an early night for all of us.  This week has been exhausting and we were feeling it!
