Part 2–Friday

In case you didn’t read Part 1, I didn’t post yesterday (Friday) so instead of writing a super long post this morning covering Thursday and Friday, I am breaking up this mornings post into two parts, one for Thursday and one for Friday.  I have a lot to say so one post would have been way too long!

So, Friday.

Friday did NOT start with exercise like Thursday, and ended with these:

Bwahahaha!

Last year, I ordered Girl Scout cookies from a friend’s daughter to support her but then when they came in, I gave them to my Mom to take to work. Didn’t eat ONE!

Yesterday afternoon, a little neighbor girl came buy with a box of girl scout cookies she had left over to sell and I bought all but one box!

And is it just me, or has everything about Girl Scout cookies gotten smaller?  Justin and I ate a whole box last night.  Well…..you know how that goes by now, Justin had two and I had 20.

Before I went to Thin Mint heaven, there were pancakes!  I started my day with pancakes again! This time I mixed in black cherry Chobani!  They were YUMTASTIC!

Not the best picture and I may have burned that last one just a tad, but they were yummy!  Just a hint of black cherry flavor and then with the honey drizzled on top.  Fahgitaboutit!

After getting everyone up and ready around here, I headed over to my Mom’s for breakfast #2.  My aunt is in town so my sister, Autumn, and I met over there for some breakfast.

**heavy subject warning**

Here is a little back information of something else that is going on and why my Aunt is here.  My Mom’s dad, my grandpa, is dying of liver cancer.  He only has a couple of weeks to live.  He was not a very nice man and my Mom did a really good job of keeping my sister and I away from all that and only showing us and telling us the good about him.  I have only seen him 6 or 7 times in my life and he was never mean to me, although I always thought he was a little odd and definitely different than my other grandparents. So, it wasn’t until I was a teenager and my uncles came around more that it even came out how abusive he was to my Mom and her siblings.  I have a lot of respect for the fact that my Mom never wanted to fill our young little hearts and minds with any of that darkness.

Without going into a bunch of detail and laying my Mom’s personal life out on the table, I’ll just say, I don’t really have any feelings towards Gpa, but I’m sad for my Mom.  She had one heck of a childhood and some how she beat the odds and grew up to be a forgiving, loving, compassionate person.  She holds no grudge and doesn’t carry the burden of his wrong doings in her heart.  She sees a man that is dying and as a human being she wants him to feel loved in his last days.

I will never know what she went through as a child or the feelings she has had to work through as an adult or the struggle she feels right now as she says good bye.  All I can do, is quietly listen as she tries to make sense of her feelings and offer her support and comfort. When the time comes that she has to say her final goodbye to a hurtful past but also to the only father she had, my Stepdad, brother, sister and I will be waiting to wrap her in a blanket of love and strength and healing.

With all that being said, after breakfast my sister and I went to my Uncle’s house (where my Gpa is staying) along with my Mom and Aunt.  I had no plans of going out there, ever, but my Mom let me know that it brings my Uncle (and her) some relief to have people around.

My sister and I didn’t stay long and by the time we left we were both ready to eat again!

We stopped at Chipotle and then popped over to Yankee Candle!

After parting ways, I headed to Bed, Bath and Beyond and bought a Keurig!

2011November 008

Yay! So excited about it!  Justin wasn’t sure about the one cup at a time situation. So, he had the first cup and it was hot chocolate and he was sold!

I was exhausted by the time I went to bed, which was about 8pm!  I was supposed to go to a friend’s house for their “One” party (you know, because of the date), but I was worn out.  The Gpa thing and dealing with behavior issues at our house and Katy, I just wanted to lay in my bed and crochet and watch TV.

Oh and it’s getting to be that time of the month!

If you need me, I’ll be elbow deep in a box of thin mints today!
