I Love Routines

It feels good to be getting back to my routine.  Isn’t having a routine the best? I know there are people out there that fly by the seat of their pants and take each day as it comes.  I do not feel good when I get off my routine for too many days.

Last week, I was definitely off my routine.  I constantly felt behind and tired.  Not a good feeling.

Just one day of getting back to my regular schedule and I already feel great and have more energy!

I woke up at 4:30am yesterday morning. That seems to be my new wake up time these days.  I like it.  It gives me time to wake up, get coffee going, the kitchen cleaned up, Katy fed and her shot given all before I leave for my workout.

Yesterday, my workout was Title Boxing.  Boy, I could tell I hadn’t been there in TWO WEEKS!  It was awesome.  He had us start by running outside and it was cold and dark.  It felt good to breathe in that cool, crisp air first thing in the morning.

Once home, I took the girls for a nice long walk and then it was time to eat!

Meal #1: Oats with protein powder and a banana

Meal #2: Egg whites and a small grape fruit

I ran Katy up to the vet to get her blood sugar checked.  It is still over 500, so her insulin got bumped up.  I take her back on Friday to check again.  We’ll just keep checking and adjusting until she gets down to a normal level.  Dogs can be as high as 140-160 (per Katy’s doctor).

After the vet visit, Justin and I headed out to run a couple of errands.  One of those included the grocery store.  I didn’t realize I was hungry until we were almost at the store and then I was STARVING when we got there!  We decided to get salads from the salad bar.

That grand idea turned into a salad, some soup and a baked potato with taco meat and nacho cheese! *gasp*

What the hail?

Obviously, my body was craving some carbs after burning through the calories in Title Boxing!

Meal #3: 1/2 of a baked potato with taco meat and nacho cheese and chicken noodle soup (definitely NOT my chicken noodle soup)

Meal #4: The other half of that baked potato with taco meat and cheese

I got some more crocheting done and napped in the afternoon.  It was a dreary, rainy day here in Kansas City.  Perfect for snuggling in at home and taking a nap.

Meal #5: Big Fat Salad

After dinner, we cozied up and watched Horrible Bosses.  It was pretty good.  I’m glad we didn’t waste the money at the movie theater, but it’s worth watching.  Jason Bateman makes every movie he’s in good and the other two guys were pretty funny as well.  We also watched Green Lantern.  I wasn’t that interested in it so I crocheted and watched.  It was okay.

I was asleep by 10:30p.  Katy had me up at 1:30am needing to go pee.  She’s drinking and peeing A LOT now. So, there are now middle of the night pees.  Awesome.

Hope you all had a great start to your week!

  1. I don't function well without a routine, one of my kids is just like me that way. Summer comes and we have a week or two where we are a mess... I don't know how people fly by the seat of their pants ;)
