I’m back!
Go to the bathroom….Grab yourself a fresh cup of coffee…..I have so much share with you guys.
This past weekend was my younger sister, Vann’s, bachelorette party.
The plan was for all eight girls to ride the train to the cute little town of Hermann, Missouri, for wine tastings and a lingerie party.
To make a long story short, there were eight of us girls. Two couldn’t ride the train due to work and school. Justin got sick and I didn’t think I was going to be able to go at all, but I definitely didn’t go down on the train and our sister-in-law Becky went to the wrong train station and by the time she got to the right one, she missed it by ONE minute! So, four girls rode to Hermann on the train and I heard they had a great time!
Justin felt horrible. I fixed a batch of my homemade chicken noodle soup and he started drinking orange juice and taking Aleve. By 3pm on Friday, he was telling me that he was feeling much better. There was still one girl left in town that was driving to Hermann after she got done with work! I got a hold of her and hitched a ride!!
I was on my way to Hermann!! I still felt bad about leaving Justin alone sick. He was telling me he was better, but he was still sick. And it stinks to be alone when you are sick. Still, he urged me to go. He said he would feel worse if I missed out on this weekend.
Ashley and I arrived in Herman around 9pm. The girls were in their PJ’s, around the dining room table drinking wine and eating snacks! They had visited a winery and a brewery when they arrived earlier that day. I was so excited to be there!
We stayed in the cutest house. It’s called The Laughing Boar. Vann’s Matron of Honor found this place and it was perfect! We had the whole house!
Saturday morning, we ate breakfast at a cute little place called Jillsie’s.
I ordered an omelet with sausage, mushrooms and bell peppers. It was good. So good, that I forgot to take a picture. It had a cute little boutique and so we did a little shopping after breakfast.
Then it was time for some wine tasting! Hermann has a trolley system and for $15/day, the trolleys will take you to all the wineries in the area.
After a day of wine tastings, it was time to change and go to dinner. (Look at us trying to squeeze all eight of us in between the doorway, not sure why we didn’t just stand in FRONT of that door way! Bwahaha! That’s what a day of tasting wine does for ya!)
We ate dinner at the CUTEST place called The Cottage.
My meal was delicious! Tilapia with chutney, greens bean and rice.
For dessert, peanut butter pie! I could only eat a couple of bites. I was pretty sugared out from all the wine, but it sure tasted good. I also had a bite of Melissa’s brownie with ice cream and Christine’s cheesecake!!
After dinner, we ended up at a local bar that a girl at The Cottage had recommended. That little bar turned into a hoppin’ place by the end of the night!
There were girls who took shots:
And there were girls who did not take shots!
The night was fun. Great people watching and lots of dancing. There were several groups of girls there for birthdays and other bachelorette parties and everyone ended up in this bar at the end of night. There are a few girls probably STILL feeling that night this morning.
I rode the train home with everyone as did Becky. It was an experience, but I probably would not do it again. It was too long. The 2 1/2 hour car ride is a 4 hour train ride.
I don’t think she’ll ever forget her bachelorette weekend! Hey Vann, want a Kamikaze?
NO. lol
ReplyDeleteLOL... that sounds like an awesome weekend! Love the picture in the doorway, cracks me up. The simple things that are forgotten when wine is near, ha ha ha ha
ReplyDeleteLooks like a blast!! I love wine tours, so much fun! Although I spend a lot once I've had a few tastings! =)
