Hungry at the Store

I started yesterday off by getting a good sweat going with 45 minutes on the elliptical.  Then I ate this little beauty:

  • Non-Fat Chobani Vanilla Greek Yogurt (I have been calling it Plain and then I looked at the package and it’s actually VANILLA!)
  • Honey drizzle
  • Toasted 7-Grain Cereal
  • Frozen strawberries, thawed
  • Gluten Free Peanut Butter Puffs

After that settled and we got everyone around here up and off for the day, I headed downstairs to lift weights:

3 sets of:

  • Chest, Flat bench – 30lb DB: 15, 12,12
  • Chest, Flys (laying flat) – 12lb DB: 15, 15, 15
  • Triceps, cable press downs – 25lb: 10, 10, 8
  • Triceps, overhead extension – 25lb DB: 6, 8, 8
  • Biceps, DB curls – 20lb DB: 8, 8, 6
  • Biceps, Wide Grip EZ bar curl: 35lb: 8, 7, 8

Then I ate this:

  • 1/4 cup 7-grain Cereal
  • 1 scoop chocolate whey protein (mixed with just enough water to make peanut butter consistency)

I’m glad the chaos of my desk is a blur in the back ground!  That’s how I try to view it everyday, so I don’t feel compelled to clean it!  So far, goal achieved!

Justin left to golf and I hopped in the shower as I had a dentist appointment.  I love my dentist and everyone that works there, so I never mind going to that appointment!  Once my teeth had gotten the royal treatment, I was off to run some errands and show them off!

I treated myself to a Chipotle burrito bowl when I was done running around.  Justin was also done by then, so I grabbed him some tacos.

I had planned on eating a chicken breast with brown rice and green beans. Close enough!

I had picked up a large chocolate gluten free cookie to try.  It was just okay.  Pretty dry and crumbly.

I also picked up these little cinnamon gluten free cookies (hungry at the store = too much time in the snack aisle).  These were GOOD!  They are super crunchy and the perfect amount of cinnamon and sugar.  I ate one by itself and then made a nutella sandwich with two more!

I think I just bought these cookies (and the bag of skittles) because I CAN!

A friend of mine (that I met through the competition) shared her protein/energy bar recipe with the Competition Ladies of KC Facebook page.  I made them yesterday:

Oh my goodness, they are delicious!  I will definitely be making these and eating them instead of cookies from now on! They are packed with dried fruit, nuts, and protein powder!  Dense and chewy!

After all the snacking through out the day, I wasn’t really hungry for a dinner.  The Pioneer Woman had a blog post about tuna melts that I couldn’t stop thinking about. I whipped up a batch of my own tuna salad and ate it on some gluten free crackers.  I feel the same way she does about tuna salad, it’s equal parts tuna and a whole bunch of other crap!  (Mmmmm, doesn’t that description make you want to dive right in!)

Tuna Salad:

  • 6 Mini Bell Pepper Sweets (2 red, 2 orange, 2 yellow – wanted to be fair to all the colors!)
  • some red onion
  • some dill pickle relish
  • some green olives
  • some black olives
  • 3 boiled eggs
  • 3 cans of tuna
  • a dollop of Miracle Whip
  • a dollop of dijon mustard

No measuring required.  Just chop and dump to taste! (I have now used crap and dump in my tuna salad recipe!)  Go make some!

The other day, I was looking for the girls and I couldn’t fine Katy.  I scanned the whole living room and didn’t see her.  I was just about to go look in the bedroom, when something odd caught my eye:

She is nine years old and has NEVER laid on the back of the couch!  She found herself a comfy spot!

  4. Uggggh, those snacks are all mouthwatering! Especially that yogurt snack and tuna salad. Oh, your dentist must be really good. So, how are your teeth? Gluten-free snacks are very in today since most people want to get fit. Love your choices, btw. They look yummy!
