3 Days Out

Whoa. It’s Wednesday.  All the festivities really get started on Friday, so I have two days before I throw myself into the unknown!  I am so glad I started that competition Facebook page so many months ago.  I already feel like I know so many of the ladies and that relieves some of my anxiety going into all this.  I am looking forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting people in person!

My anxiety was a little higher yesterday and there isn’t much pep left in my step! I am feeling tired this morning and kind of foggy.  I really tried to keep myself task oriented and keep my mind off being anxious yesterday.  I did 45 minutes of light cardio in the morning and that’s it.  Today is my last day of some light cardio and light upper body weights and then I’m done. It’s time to kick my feet up and rest!

I had a busy day yesterday.  After we got all our morning stuff done, Justin headed out to play golf and headed to get my wax!  It was so much better this time. It took like 20 minutes and while it was still painful, it wasn’t nearly as painful as the first time.  I think I’m hooked on the waxing thing!!

Remember how I got Shellac put on my nails yesterday?  Well, two of my nails were already bubbling up and a couple of the others looked like crap so, after my wax, I ran back up to the salon and had the girl soak them off and give me my money back!

I got home just in time to grab something to eat and then run across the street so my neighbor could spray tan me.  I just needed an “Everyday Glow” for my transformation pictures today.

All the girls that Diana has trained are getting together this afternoon and getting our pictures taken!!  I am looking forward to that.  Then we are all sticking around and stuffing all the goody bags for the show!  I can’t wait to see what all we are getting.  Diana said our bags are definitely worth more than what we paid for our registration so I can’t wait to see all the stuff!

Back to yesterday, Justin and I both arrived home at about the same time, so we caught each other up with how our days were going.  I still had a couple of things that I wanted to get crossed off my list, so out the door I went!  Dillard’s was first where I bought these:

You should have seen me when I got home, I was trying on EVERYTHING!! LOL!  They sure make a difference! Welcome back boobies!

Next stop was Charming Charlie’s, where I bought my stage jewelry.

The bracelet is stretchy and, it’s kind of hard to tell in the picture, but it’s just a bunch of little sparkly crystals.  Exactly what I wanted!

I still needed to do something about my nails, so I ended up at a nail salon at 6pm, recommended by the girl who did my wax, and got a set of the good old pink and whites.  I got the elderly man, who barely spoke any English. I was actually glad because I was so tired and not in the mood to chit chat.  I just wanted to get my nails done and get out of there!  I really thought I might just go to sleep in the chair.  I used to wear artificial nails all the time, but I haven’t had a set in about 6 or 7 years.  My finger tips are actually a little sore this morning.  They look pretty though.

I must say.  All this “pampering” is a lot of work and A LOT of money.  I am going to write a post about how much this experience has cost when it’s all said and done.  Justin is one lucky guy for marrying a low maintenance girl!  Between the facials, waxing, tanning, mani, pedi, nails, makeup, and hair, it’s CRAZINESS!!  I am feeling very lady-like though.  I have spent the last four months being sweaty, hardly ever wearing makeup or fixing my hair and living in workout clothes, so it feels good to get cleaned up!

Wish me luck in keeping my head on straight today!

  1. I'm so jealous that you're *so* close to your competition! Sounds like things are running smoothly! And try not to be so anxious--you've got this girl! Haha I love you're comment "Welcome back boobies!" Looks like I'll be looking into some enhancers too. Just think--tomorrow you get to RELAX :)

  8. I had to laugh when I saw those boob-boosters... I bought those enhancers back when I did the fitness-burlesque class that culminated in a live-show. During our dress rehearsal, mid-routine, we did this move where you bend at the waist (flat back) and kind of go left to right with your torso... PLOP!! PLOP!! Yep! They both fell right out of my top and onto the stage! DESPITE the adhesive!! ROFL!! That turned into my "ah heck with it! just have fun!" moment. I wish you better luck with yours!!!
