38 Days Out

Good Morning Wednesday!  It’s the middle of the week already.  We are just racing through my countdown to the competition, don’t you think?! Only 38 days until I am a struttin’ my stuff on the stage.  I better start practicing my posing! eeep.

My sister, Vann, said to think of this way, I only have FIVE Mondays left!  whoa!  That sounds like nothing!  ONLY FIVE MONDAYS?!  Compared to saying 5 1/2 weeks or 38 days, that makes it sound like it’s tomorrow!

A friend of mine posted on Facebook yesterday (Holla, Allison!) that September 18 will be her next competition.  So, that got me thinking. I wonder if I will do this again?  I definitely don’t hate this process.  I feel the best I have felt in my life.  If I keep my body fat low enough all summer, I won’t have to give up candy and wine start my comp prep so early, so it won’t be as hard.  I guess I’ll see how I feel after this competition.

Yesterday, was gloooor-eee-ous!  I had energy and it was beautiful outside! (a winning combination)  I had so much energy that I went to the warehouse and worked out!  It was a fun change since I haven’t been there in weeks.

After all my workouts were done for the day, I lathered on the sunscreen, slipped into my bikini, parked myself in the sun with a book and took a nap!  I was in heaven.  I actually woke up because I was too HOT!  I love that. The girls loved it too!  Katy always lays in the screened in porch because she gets too hot, and  Piper always lays out in the the grass in full sun! 

Workouts:

  • Morning Cardio – ran 5 miles and walked the girls
  • 2nd round of Cardio – warehouse workout (more running, lots of walking lunges and abs)
  • Weights – trained chest at home

I really pushed myself during my morning run and did the 5 miles in 45 minutes instead of 50 min!  The 10 min miles were getting a little too comfy!  Gotta challenge myself. Only 5 1/2 weeks left!

Meal #3: Left over chicken and turkey burger with brussel sprouts (this is an old picture of just chicken and brussel sprouts, but imagine 1/2 the chicken and a turkey burger tucked under that Walden Farms bbq sauce!)

Meal #4: Chicken breast with stir fried veggies.  I baked the chicken with Mrs. Dash Tomato, Basil, Garlic seasoning. It is REALLY good!

I didn’t feel very snack-y yesterday which is a first in a while!  I ate the amount of almonds I’m allowed to have and had a couple of whole pickles but I didn’t think about food much yesterday.  It was nice. 

By the way, I finally broke through my plateau and weigh 139.  I know the number on the scale means nothing in this whole competition preparation thing. It’s all about the look and body fat, but I haven’t been in the 130’s in over 10 years, so I’m pretty excited about seeing that number!

Time to lace up my running shoes!

    Also, that chicken taco salad looks yummy!
    You also reminded me that I need to add pickles to my shopping list....yum!

  3. Great job on the loss and kicking up the intesity on the treadmill, I love that you pushed yourself! And I'm jealous that you could be outside in sun. I'm dreaming of it. Hopefully not much longer!
