32 Days Out

Eeeeeep! Only 32 more days!  I know I make some sort of comment about this every other day, but it really is sinking in just how close I am and the fact that I am actually doing it at all!  It also means one day close to these:

Yesterday turned out to be a great day!  I actually kept my energy level ALL day! It was a miracle.

I cleaned, did laundry, got all my workouts in, ate all my meals.  Perfect day!

Workouts:

  • Ran 5 miles, walked the girls
  • Walked 45 minutes with Justin around the neighborhood
  • Lifted weights: biceps and triceps
  • 45 more minutes of cardio split between the elliptical and spin bike

After running a total of 3 miles between the two days previous, it felt good to run again yesterday morning.  And then, I was so excited that Justin wanted to go for a walk before he left to play golf for the day.  I am so used to having him around all day, I miss him when he’s gone!  Our neighborhood is pretty hilly, so I was totally going to count that walk as my second round of cardio.  I thought to myself, cardio is cardio, I’ll just get in another 15 minutes on the elliptical after I lift weights.  Well, I lifted weights, but didn’t hop on the elliptical.  So, we are all snuggled in watching Dancing with the Stars last night and I’m looking around on facebook reading updates from Diana, who is really pumping us up about the show, and then another girl talks about heading to the gym for round #2.  I start thinking, have I done everything I can today to get me closer to my goal?  And the answer was NO!  That walk did NOT burn enough calories and I didn’t do the full hour.  I was only cheating myself! So, I got my fanny downstairs and powered through 45 more minutes between the elliptical and the spin bike!  I was dripping with sweat and felt great when I was done!  I slept so good!

Meals:

Meal #1: Oats with protein

Meal #2: Chicken stir fry with 2 slices gluten free toast (toast was an after thought! I realized I needed to eat a carb with this meal after I had it fixed so I through a couple pieces of bread in the toaster.)

Meal #3:  Oats with protein

Meal #4: Tilapia with roasted brussel sprouts

Meal #5: Tilapia with a salad

I forgot how much I like tilapia.  I just dry the fish off, sprinkle with kosher salt, spray a hot pan with Olive Oil Pam, sear the fish (takes like 2 minutes on each side), then squeeze half a lemon over the top!  So simple and so good!

My energy level is up again this morning.  Crossing my fingers (again) that it lasts all day!  I have big plans for today though to help me keep moving and not leave room for excuses!  We’ll see how it all plays out!
