31 Days Out

Whew! I am getting around to posting very late today.  Sorry folks.  It has been busy, busy around here.

Good news though, I had the best day yesterday!  I kept my fire going all day, again! It’s like I’ve got a second wind or something.  It was a high carb day and I used every single one of the them!

Workouts:

  • I started off with the usual 5 mile run.  Only, I really pushed myself.  Sprinted up hills, ran one of the miles as fast as I could, just anything I could to push myself out of my comfort zone!
  • After eating, I headed to the warehouse and had a great (and sweaty) workout there with all the girls!
  • When I got home, I ate some food and then headed downstairs and lifted weights (quads and calves) with Justin.
  • I relaxed for the afternoon and then slapped on a fresh workout outfit and headed to the karate school for the 6pm cardio class.  It was a good one!  I have some tired legs today!

I love workout days like that!  I went through three (3) sets of workout clothes.  I felt exhausted and proud of myself by the end of the day.  I slept so good too! I was a little sleepy when I woke up this morning, but couldn’t wait to get my first cup of coffee.  There really is nothing like that first cup in the morning!

Meals:

Meal #1: Oats with protein

Meal #2: Oats with protein

Meal #3: Oats with protein and egg whites and 1 slice gluten free toast

Meal #4: Chicken breast with sweet potato chips

Meal #5: Oats with protein

Meal #6: Chicken breast with salad

As you can see, it was an oats and protein kind of day!  I just couldn’t get enough of them.

In the evening, I was doing my usual, googling yummy, chocolaty desserts on my lap top while we watched TV, and Justin starts wanting something sweet. (wonder why?!)  At first I didn’t think we even had any ingredients to make anything sweet because I am certainly not keeping much around the house these days.  Then I remember cinnamon toast!  As it turns out, in the 15 years we have been together, I have never made Justin cinnamon toast!  We also happened to have thick, Sarah Lee bread this time.  Oh, my gosh, he was in heaven! He said it tasted like cake!  I enjoyed making it and I REALLY enjoyed watching him eat it! (That almost sounds creepy! ha!)

Well, it’s time to eat again!  See you in the morning!

  2. I loved watching cooking shows while I worked out at the gym...something about seeing other people enjoy food was very satisfying.

  3. I came across your blog while I was searching for other aspiring fig competitors. I've found your progress inspirational. I've enjoyed reading your last two post and seeing your progress to your first show! I'm aiming to compete in my first fig show in late June. I'm glad to have found others who are going through the experience too!
